Come join S.E.A. at the Camden-Rockport Middle School for an Earth Day movie night on April 22nd at 6:30pm!
The MSAD #28 and Camden Hills Regional High School have a robust composting program. Yet, very few people in our district know about it or know the significance of such a program. On April 22nd, Earth Day, the Environmental Club at the middle school and Stewardship Education Alliance are hosting a movie night featuring Kiss the Ground, a movie that will help folks understand the important role that composting can play in supporting natural systems to mitigate climate change.
Following the movie, there will be a presentation by the high school composting management team and Tessa Rosenberry and Davis Saltonstall from Scrap Dogs, a local composting service. The movie is 45 minutes long. The whole presentation should be no more than 1.5 hours long. Don’t forget to put it on your calendar: Monday, April 22, 2024 at 6:30pm.
Join us for a lively musical evening that will also benefit S.E.A. The featured performer will be Dean Stevens from the Boston area. Rachel and John Nicholas with The Good Trouble project will host and also perform. Dean is a longtime performer at Sweet Chariot Music Festival on Swans Island and frequently involved with David Dodson’s annual fall show and songwriters. Gifted songwriter/singers John and Rachel Nichols have also performed widely including at the Camden Opera House. We’ll have more information soon, but for now – please save the date!
Celebrate an afternoon outdoors and engage in activities to learn more about transforming your yard into a more supportive place for wildlife.
Roots n Shoots, Nature-Based After School programs Co-Sponsored by S.E.A. will host their second Earth Day event on Sunday, April 21st 12:00 to3:00.
Everyone is invited to learn about native plants, create robust compost, harvest worms, build brush piles, meander nature trails, engage in art and play with bunnies, Willa and Winston.
We look forward to seeing you and sharing this glorious day.

We’re gearing up for the 4th annual Poetry on Windows celebration! This year, for the second time, we are partnering with The Poets’ Corner to be part of the Camden Festival of Poetry on May 18th. On that Saturday morning, we form a small parade as we walk from window to window listening to poets read their displayed poems. As always, anyone willing to help is welcome.
